J.A.M.’s Terms of Service was designed and is maintained in order to provide a clear and in-depth explanation of what is to be expected of and by our customers, coaches, players, fans, as well as ourselves.
1. Your relationship with J.A.M.
1.1 Unless otherwise agreed in writing with J.A.M., your agreement with J.A.M. will always include, at a minimum, the terms and conditions set out in this document.2. Accepting the Terms
1.2 These Terms of Service form a legally binding agreement between you and J.A.M. in relation to your use of the services, facilities, and organizational aspects offered by the organization. It is important that you take the time to read them carefully. Collectively, this legal agreement is referred to below as the “Terms”.
1.3 If there is any contradiction between what a J.A.M. representative, official, coach, player, parent, or another entity says and what the Terms say, then the Terms shall take precedence in relation to that particular aspect of service.
2.1 In order to use the Services, you must first agree to the Terms. You may not use the Services offered if you do not accept the Terms.3. Financial
2.2 You can accept the Terms by: (A) clicking to accept or agree to the Terms, where this option is made available to you by the www.jamball.com website via the registration form; (B) by mailing in payment and/or a registration form; or (C) by actually using the Services. In this case, you understand and agree that J.A.M. will treat your use of the Services as acceptance of the Terms from that point onwards.
2.3 Before you continue, you should print off or save a local copy of the Terms for your records.
2.4 All Camps, Clinics, Leagues, and other J.A.M.-related events are subject to the Terms presented in this document.
3.1 Both online payments and payments by mail are subject to our sliding payment scale. Each individual is responsible for paying the correct amount at the time of transaction or by the date postmarked on the envelope containing payment. Failure to pay the correct amount may subject that player a monetary fine.4. Full Teams
3.2 NO CASH PAYMENTS are accepted for league fees. Exceptions to this rule are League Nights, uniform fees, concessions, door fees, and certain clinics. Beware of swindlers standing by attempting to collect J.A.M. fees in cash.
3.3 Refunds are not guaranteed, and are only given under unique circumstances (as determined by the J.A.M. administration). Proration may be implemented if games have been played by the team, regardless of whether the player requesting the refund played in those games. Injuries, relocation, disdain for the coach or team, and other factors unassociated with the J.A.M. organization are not acceptable reasons for refund. All refunds are subject to any fine decided upon by the J.A.M. organization.
3.4 Scholarships are not guaranteed, and are limited in regard to the number given out per event/season. No scholarships may be requested outside of the designated periods, and no persons will receive a scholarship without properly requesting one through the designated form.
3.5 All deals expire 3 weeks prior to the start of the season so that those not accepted to receive any aid still have time to register at regular price if they choose to do so. In consideration of these individuals will we not accept ANY scholarship request after that time.
4.1 Registering as a FULL TEAM indicates that you have 8-12 players that have fully paid by the specified deadline. Those attempting to become full teams will be automatically reduced to ‘partial team’ status, and will succumb to all the rules and stipulations given to partial teams.5. Partial Teams
4.2 Full teams not fully paid must have at least one player paid by the first week of season play, two players paid by week 2, three players by week 3, and so on... or the team will be disbanded and paid players will be redistributed to other teams without refund. Higher in-season registration costs will apply.
4.3 Each full team must supply their own coach and practice facility, neither of which is supplied by the J.A.M. organization. J.A.M. will, however, provide the necessary insurance for your team (free of charge) to obtain a facility, as well as a listing of possible facilities and their contact information.
4.4 No full team is ever obligated to provide practice time for their players.
4.5 Members of full teams must realize J.A.M. has no say in the format of their team’s distribution of playing time, nor choice in any other realm of game-play strategy beyond the walls of expected sportsmanship and basic conduct.
4.6 J.A.M. recommends that you name your team uniquely as to avoid confusion.
5.1 Registering as a PARTIAL TEAM indicates that you have 5-7 players that have fully paid by the specified deadline. Those with less than 5 fully paid players will be automatically reduced to ‘individual’ status, and will succumb to all the rules and stipulations given to individuals.6. Individuals
5.2 Partial teams will be given individuals based on location, need, and what’s available from the Free Agent pool. No teams will be distributed players prior to the Assignment period, and no team is guaranteed players.
5.3 In the event of a partial team not being able to be filled, J.A.M. has the right to combine said team with another unfilled partial team. The team will then be named after whichever group has the most paid players, or a team name can be decided upon by the two groups.
5.4 J.A.M. may also, as a worse-case scenario, disband any unfilled partial team and distribute each player throughout the league.
5.5 Each partial team must supply their own coach and practice facility, neither of which is supplied by the J.A.M. organization. J.A.M. will, however, provide the necessary insurance for your team (free of charge) to obtain a facility, as well as a listing of possible facilities and their contact information.
5.6 No partial team is ever obligated to provide practice time for their players, and coaches may request a small, appropriate fee from the team’s parents to cover the cost of a practice facility.
5.7 Each member of a partial team must play no less than one-fourth (1/4) of the game. Only injury, foul trouble, ejection, heath issues, or parental decisions or obligations may override this rule. If any partial team is reported by a player or parent in regard to breaking this rule, that game will be ruled as a forfeit.
5.8 J.A.M. recommends that you name your team uniquely as to avoid confusion.
6.1 Registering as an INDIVIDUAL indicates that you would like to be placed on J.A.M.’s Free Agent list. All free agents aer assigned to a partial team during the Assignment period.7. Organizations
6.2 No free agents will be distributed players prior to the Assignment period.
6.3 Each partial team must supply their own coach and practice facility, neither of which is supplied by the J.A.M. organization. J.A.M. will, however, provide the necessary insurance for your team (free of charge) to obtain a facility, as well as a listing of possible facilities and their contact information.
6.4 No partial team is ever obligated to provide practice time for their players, and coaches may request a small, appropriate fee from the team’s parents to cover the cost of a practice facility.
6.5 Each member of a partial team must play no less than one-fourth (1/4) of the game. Only injury, foul trouble, ejection, heath issues, or parental decisions or obligations may override this rule. If any partial team is reported by a player or parent in regard to breaking this rule, that game will be ruled as a forfeit.
6.6. Individuals are assigned to teams by location. In the event there is no team in your immediate area, J.A.M. will assign you to the closest team possible.
6.7 Practice times are left up to each team to decide. Coordinating a practice schedule for 10 individuals will be tough, but it would be even tougher for J.A.M. to do the same thing for hundreds of teams.
7.1 Registering under the title of MULTIPLE TEAMS indicates that you have more than one team entering that particular J.A.M. league. None of your teams will be subject to being automatically reduced to ‘partial team’ status, nor will any succumb to all the rules and stipulations given to partial teams.8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
7.2 The payment deadline for organizations is prior to post-season play. However, each player must still pay whatever the current price is on J.A.M.’s sliding scale.
7.3 Organizations and the players within them are not eligible for refund.
7.4 Each full team must supply their own coach and practice facility, neither of which is supplied by the J.A.M. organization. J.A.M. will, however, provide the necessary insurance for your team (free of charge) to obtain a facility, as well as a listing of possible facilities and their contact information.
7.5 Members of full teams must realize J.A.M. has no say in the format of their team’s distribution of playing time, nor choice in any other realm of gameplay strategy beyond the walls of sportsmanship and basic conduct.
7.6 Organizations failing to provide FULL payment prior to the start of post-season play are subject to being blacklisted. Blacklisted organizations may not participate in post-season play. Furthermore, blacklisted organizations may not register for any future J.A.M. events until they have settled their debt and paid a $200 fine (or $50 per month after the season has begun). The blacklisted teams will be listed publicly as a warning to individuals who might sign up and pay to be part of an organization under the false impression their team will be allowed into the J.A.M. league.
7.7 All organizations are welcome to register as FULL teams instead, with the aforementioned rules and stipulations in place - including, but not limited to, being assigned individuals from your area if your team has less than 8 players.
8.1 J.A.M. bears no responsibility for loss of any items at any venue. Our staff will not remove any item from that is not ours from the gym. Left items are subject to the facility’s Lost & Found department.9. Season Format
8.2 As with any sport’s organization, J.A.M. is not responsible for any injury within or about our facilities.
8.3 Altercations beyond the scope of the game will be treated as they would in any public arena. As the law of the state of Colorado indicates, we will proceed.
9.1 The J.A.M. league consists of 8 regular season games followed by a tournament in which each team is guaranteed 2 games.10. GAME-PLAY
9.2 The playoff format for the Varsity and JV divisions is single elimination.
9.3 Teams that sign up for the league are expected to play all their scheduled games. It's the coaches responsibility to make sure this occurs.
10.1 Regular High School rules except for the following: Games will consist of two twenty minute running clock halves. The clock will stop during time-outs. The clock will also stop the last two minutes of the 2nd half, if the contest is within 15 points. Teams get 3 time-outs per game. Overtime consists of the following: 1st overtime / 2 minute stop clock - 2nd overtime / 1 minute stop clock - 3rd overtime / sudden death first team to two score 2 points.11. Coaches
10.2 It is to each teams' discretion regarding the ball size being used for the boys 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade divisions. However - should a discrepancy arise - the official stance of J.A.M. Basketball is that the aforementioned grade levels play with a ball 28.5 in size.
10.3 All teams in all divisions are allowed to press, as to promote the most competitive environment we can. Only in the name of sportsmanship, not as an obligation, do we request teams pull of their press when the game is no longer in doubt.
11.1 Coaches are responsible for submitting the team’s roster, insurance requests, game cancellations, completing the coach’s packet, and communication of game time to members of the team.12. Missed games
11.2 Only coaches of partial teams have obligations on playing time. See 5.7 for details.
11.3 All coaches must display a level of respect towards one another, fans, parents, officials, administration, and players. Any violation of this may be grounds for dismissal from the league without refund.
12.1 If your team cannot play a game, then the league MUST receive notice in writing two weeks prior to that game, so that we can replace your team. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT YOUR GAME WILL BE MADE UP!! We will do our best to find you another game.13. Rosters
12.2 All forfeits result in an automatic loss, but we will try to give you an extra make-up game that will not count towards your standings.
12.3 Any team that is a "no-show" for a scheduled game and fails to provide timely written notification of their absence will be penalized and your scheduled opponent will be entitled to play your next game, or any game on your schedule that they choose because of your team's lack of consideration.
12.4 The JAM league assumes that all teams will participate in the post-season tournament as part of the league package. Any missed games will result in your team’s forfeiture. Please contact us if you must miss a game to be considerate.
13.1 Rosters must be submitted prior to the start of the season and must match our records of the individuals who have paid in full.14. Parents
13.2 Boys may not play in girls division, and girls may play in boys division with explicit consent from J.A.M..
13.3 Any roster changes throughout the season must be sent in to and approved by J.A.M..
13.4 Players not listed on the official team roster prior to the start of the post-season tournament may not participate. If they do, all games are immediately forfeited.
13.5 If any player not on the roster or illegally on the roster (i.e. ‘A player too old’), that team forfeits their entire schedule and will not be allowed into the post-season. Please police your team, as no refunds will be issued.
13.6 If a player is considered “injured and out for the remainder of the season”, that player may be replaced if the roster is now under 7 players. The new player must pay a prorated rate.
14.1 All fans must display a level of respect towards one another, coaches, fans, officials, administration, and players. Any violation of this may be grounds for dismissal from the league without refund.15. Players

18.4 All forfeits result in an automatic loss, but we will try to give you an extra make-up game that will not count towards your standings.
18.5 Make-up games are never guaranteed, and only teams that have supplied us with ten days notice will be eligible to have their game made-up.
