Shooting 101 - Youth Basketball Shooting Drills

by Peter
(Westminster, CO)

Level of Difficulty: Easy

Need only 2 players for this drill.

One player starts with the ball under the basket. The other player spots up from any spot on the floor. The ball is passed to the shooter who catches the ball low with his knees bent and shoots a jump shot. The passer follows his pass and gets a hand up in the shooters face. The shooter gets his own rebound while the passer now spots up to shoot. After a pass is made the new passer now goes and gets a hand in the shooter's face.

Every effort should be made to try to go at game speed. This will help with following a shot for a rebound as well as closing out on a shooter and catching and shooting the ball quickly.
